L.i.f.e. Groups

Life Groups are small groups of people (5-15 depending on the group), who meet regularly over a specific period of time throughout the year; they complement the large group gathering of Sunday morning worship. Their purpose is to provide opportunities for initiating and building friendships, as well as for growing deeper in faith in Jesus Christ. Meeting in homes and/or the church building, Life Groups focus on different topics that help people live the Gospel in their daily lives.

L.I.F.E. Groups are committed to:

Learning God's Word together

Interacting with God

Fellowship with one another

Extending ourselves to others

Below is a list of some of the groups that are currently meeting online.  Please fill out this interest form to get more information about particular groups or contact the leader if you have any questions.

  • IN SHARED SERVICE

SUNDAYS at 9 AM at the church and via Zoom

Women and Men Together in Ministry

Join Pastors Mike and Jen on a four-week bible study journey, as we consider the ordination of women within the ECO denomination.  We all have room to grow in understanding, and we hope this opportunity provides space for open, friendly discussion and learning.  We will meet January 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 9 AM during the Discipleship Hour as we cover Creation, Old Testament, Gospels, and New Testament scriptures. You don't have to be present at all 4 sessions to track with us, so feel free to join as you are able.

A Preview from ECO's Theology Document:

The question of the ordination of women is deceptively complex. While it may seem like a simple yes or no answer with direct proof-texts from the Bible, the issue involves many complexities. The ordination of women involves questions about how we read the Bible.... ECO holds that God does not distinguish between male and female roles in his church because we believe the Bible teaches this. We do not hold this because of the triumph of Feminism, nor because we hold to an Enlightenment vision of Egalitarianism. The issue is not about rights. No one has a right to join the kingdom of God, or be an ambassador of his kingdom and message of reconciliation. There is no room for rights in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all at the mercy of God who has given us salvation, reconciliation, and mission as gifts, not as rewards. The calling of God is to all without human distinction.

Please contact Mike or Jen Haddox at the church office if you have any questions.

Discussing "Kingdom Highlights" and holding one another up in prayer.

  • Women's group: the promised one

TUESDAYS at 9:30 AM via Zoom

    Led by Miriam Wentzel

This study provides a fresh look at the book of Genesis, discovering how its stories, symbols, people, and promises point to Christ. Our goal is to see Christ as the agent of creation, the offspring who will crush the head of the serpent, the ark of salvation, and the source of the righteousness.

  • SINGLE Women's Group:  book of Daniel

SUNDAYS at 12 PM in person and via Zoom
